All These Gentle Men
To the Men at Kalani Honua
February 7-14, 1997
With my heart open wide
And reaching deep inside,
I have come to heal the child within,
And I know I'll receive
All the courage that I'll need
From the hearts of all these gentle men.
Lost and frightened, alone,
My heart turned into stone
And I doubted that I could feel again.
Now I see I can find
All the joy I've left behind
Here in the hearts of all these gentle men.
Too long I've hidden
Behind the guilt and shame
Too long I've hidden
From my own name.
Now those fears are all past
And I've come home at last
To the hearts of all these gentle men.
Acknowledged and honored,
Healthy, strong, and whole
Nothing again will ever dare
To dim my soul.
Here and now I reclaim
My true spirit and my name
With the strength of all these gentle men,
In the eyes of all these gentle men,
Through the love of all these gentle men.
